Principles & Practices

Focus Guru is built on the following principles: Simplicity, Structure, Motion, Consistency, and People-centricity. This set of principles drives the philosophy of the product and guides the life beyond the software.

Simplicity

Life is complex. It is perceived even more complex for ADHD brains. One way to cope with this complexity is hyper-focus. The other is simplicity. Making things simple, limiting yourself in a good way, saying “no” — that's the way to easier life. Removing unnecessary details from your thinking and decision-making processes is transformative.

Structure

Creativity is the core of ADHD personalities, but it is chaotic by its nature. Structure converts chaotic creative effort into an organized flow. It gives you the boundaries for your focus, while allowing flexibility to adapt. Avoiding limitless systems protects you from being drained. Structure gives you freedom and preserves energy by eliminating infinite choices.

Motion

Motion supported by the outcome creates momentum. You cannot understand if you're approaching your goals if you're standing still. Generating motion is key. Starting to move somewhere, even randomly, gives you information that unlocks powerful insights. Supporting the momentum with positive feelings continues to power the momentum.

Consistency

Every day, every month, every year, for life. Use the compounding effect for your benefit. Small steps convert into small outcomes. Small outcomes fuel bigger steps. Biggest steps covert into bigger outcomes, and so on. Consistent momentum creates miracles and you finally get what you wanted.

People-centricity

Think and care about yourself in the first place. Build trust and treat yourself with respect. Then get out of your bubble and provide others with the same depending on their maturity. Everything in our society is built by or built for people. People are in the center of our civilization. The ultimate goal is to have fun in this life together.
